“NARS is excited to introduce their latest Satin Lip Pencils - Capitalizing on the brand’s iconic Velvet Matte Lip Pencil and Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil, Satin Lip Pencil rounds out the category, with a rich, creamy satin formula. The new Satin Lip Pencil dresses up lips in statement shades that seduce with rich, color-bright pigments while drenching them in decadent moisture. Use for lining, all-over lip color, or pairing with another lip product.”
“For the Satin Lip Pencil collection, François channeled his passion for travel and interest in nature into the naming process. The thirteen signature shades are all named for parks and gardens around the world, including some of the places that have inspired François in his life.”
Was sent Yu - “Shocking Pink”, Golshan - “Spiced Wine”, & Het Loo - “Cognac”.
They will retail for $37 SGD from 1st April, 2013 and are available at Tangs Orchard in Singapore.
In this series of swatches there would be one all-over lip swatch, and then the same swatch blotted out for a more matte look.
NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Yu
“Otherwise known as Yuyuan Garden (Garden of Happiness or Garden of Peace), is an extensive Chinese garden located beside the City God Temple in the northeast of the Old City of Shanghai, China. A centerpiece is the Exquisite Jade Rock, a porous 3.3-meter, 5-ton boulder. Yu Garden was first conceived in 1559 during the Ming Dynasty by Pan Yunduan.”

NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Het Loo
“Located in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, Het Loo is a baroque garden with rich decoration, made by King William and Queen Mary. The garden was fully restored for the its 300th anniversary in 1984, with some of the old trees left to live out their natural lives in the lower parterre.”

Since I have NARS Schiap (matte lipstick) I thought of doing a color comparison (texture wise, they’re totally different) between these two.
On first swatch Yu looks much more intense, but I wondered if that was because it’s quite glossy and thus I blotted it off…
NARS Schiap vs Yu - blotted out
After blotting off you can still see the texture differences - Schiap is still way more matte than the blotted off Yu, but Yu remains intense and also leans a little cooler than Schiap.
Have yet to wear one of them out for a wear test, but so far from swatching, these are quite staining and I’d love to experiment and mix it with my Velvet Lip Pencil!
Love this video below, which shows you both application and color swatches! Do watch it!

And if you have the time, check out their
interactive film on the website! I spent some time going through it again and again just to see the different choice possibilities on Sarah Ruba, whose lips are just so absolutely gorgeous to look at.
I can foresee myself stopping by Tangs to take a look at Biscayne Park (a pink guava) and I know my girlfriend Eve will be lemming for Lodhi (a vibrant coral)! ; D
