ZA Spring 2013′s New Make Up

Jan 27, 2013 17:00

According to ZA Singapore, 2013′s spring trends are:
• Grey Tones
• Splashes of Pink
• Sheer Lips
• Voluminous Lashes

And for Spring 2013, they’ve launched 3 new additions to the Eyes Groovy Eyeshadow Palettes, 3 new Lip Drops and a new mascara!
  • ZA Killer Volume Mascara, $ SGD 18.50
  • ZA Eyes Groovy Eyeshadow Palettes in 07 Pinkish Brown, 08 Clean Grey and 09 Wine red, $18.50 SGD each
  • ZA Lip Drops in 11 Sweet Sweet, 12 The Pink, and 13 Crystal Crush, $11.90 SGD each

ZA Killer Volume Mascara

ZA’s website says:
“Instantly achieves Super curl & Volume lashes! Liquid Absorption up to 170%.”
(my mind’s thinking… wth is liquid absorption lol. I think they meant up to 170% increase in volume!)

The new ZA Killer Volume mascara has a GIGANTIC BRUSH which is slightly curved. I am still trying to adapt to the size, haha.

I like that this mascara holds the curls and stays all day long till removal - no smudges throughout the day!
As for volume, it can give me voluminous lashes after 2-3 heavy coats, but I find that it’s just so very slightly clumpy at 3 coats. I guess you gotta experiment with the brush a little. I don’t dislike this, but I think you get volume faster with Heroine Make’s Impact Frame Mascara.

However, if you layer on gently, the mascara can give you very natural looking but still voluminous, feathery lashes, which I rather liked. I stopped at 2 coats for that look.

ZA Eyes Groovy Eyeshadow Palettes

“Three new additions to the ZA Eyes Groovy Eyeshadow makes it a total of 9 palettes in the entire collection. ZA’s Brilliant Powder Complex promises hi-fidelity, long-lasting colors which blends easily and does not smudge, crease or become dull over time.”

I was provided with 07 Pinkish Brown, and did two eye looks with the same eyeshadow!

Japanese (drugstore) make up typically have soft, blendable colors, are very easy to apply, and *almost* always come with instructions at the back. According to the little diagram, you can use color A,B, or C all over your lids and use the color D along the lash line, and blend it in.

Here’s are the two eyes side by side for comparison ; ) Pink can sometimes make your eyes look puffy, so don’t go too high and use a bit more brown. I love the pink in this palette, it’s SOOOOO sweet!

ZA Lip Drops

“The Lip Drops, with a diagonally-cut applicator tip which spreads the gloss easily, has a non-sticky texture and Drop seal prescription which leaves you with dewy, glossy and plumped 3d lips. Vitamin E and Collagen Complex replenishes lips with a generous amount of long-lasting moisture, and has a very subtle floral fruity signature scent.”

I don’t usually dig lip glosses but for some reason I really really like ZA’s Lip Drops!

I guess it’s the size - it’s so petite and easy to carry around, especially to clubbing (not like I club anymore la, but you know you gotta have kissable lips when you’re actually very dehydrated by all that alcohol haha). The size to me, minimizes wastage cos I don’t usually finish my glosses. (And at $11.90, they are not that expensive either! ;))

11 Sweet Sweet - Clear Beige for sweet & cute “kawaii” lips.
12 The Pink - Faint pink that subtly lights up your lips.
13 Crystal Queen - A clear color with a glitter of Gold Pearl

Crystal Queen is rather pretty - I know you can’t see any shimmer in my swatches, but they’re the most iridescent shimmer (though less shimmer-packed) out of the 3.

I received 11 Sweet Sweet in my press kit, which I am happy with! It’s sheer, with just a tint of beige and the right amount of shimmer - my lips look glossy but they don’t look like they’ve been covered in cheap lip gloss - the shimmer’s very subtle though it looks heavy in the swatch, and made my lips really kissable. This is super moisturizing too!

ZA’s New Model - Hikari Mori

Jun Hasegawa has gone on to be a mummy, and ZA has introduced a new model to replace her (for the time being, I hope! Jun is so pretty).

Her name is Hikari Mori (森星), of Italian, American (mum) and Japanese (dad) parentage. She’s born in 1992, which would make her only 21 this 2013 *gasp* Her smile is gorgeous, and her close up shot reminds me a little of Peiling (agneselle lol) - No?

Here’s another image I found off ZA’s website on how to use the palettes and lip drops to achieve the different looks.
