Never in all my born days and I first read "The Hobbit" 47 years ago -- never did I consider Bilbo Baggins to be sex symbol. Or Thorin Oakenshield.. Well guess what. I have changed my mind.
In any event, because I read "The Hobbit" first, it still retains that sense of magic and wonder and stepping into a new world for the first time. So oddly enough I am actually more excited about the "Hobbit" than I was about "LotR." Making three movies out of it, while to some may seem excessive or even must plain greedy, gives Jackson time to explore things in the Appendices, stuff perhaps glossed over that we're curious about.
Anyway. No I do NOT have a Bilbo Baggins action figure. Have you seen the prices? I got most of my LoTR figures for $5 or $6.00 10 years ago. I have my little Bilbo bookmark and the EW with Martin Freeman/Bilbo on the cover. Oh well, yeah and watch all 6 episodes of Sherlock a few times.
That said I don't care how divine Benedict Cumberbatch is I am still not watching "The War Horse." Lassie Come Home with guns. . I don't think so.
