something I can be proud of

I needed to immortalize this story. I'm pretty sure all my friends are sick of hearing it by now.

I was working out w/ my PT on Friday. She's graduated me to the free-weights area rather than simply doing the machines now, so we were there doing rows. I'm not quite sure what weight I was rowing, except that it was pretty difficult and it must have been comparable to what I weigh because I had to work really hard to keep the weights from pulling me off my seat.

Now, in between sets, Kary, my PT, has me do some type of cardio. It was squat-thrusts on this particular occasion. Right when I began my STs, a guy walked up and asked to use the rowing machine while I wasn't using it. Of course we said he could. He wasn't a big guy or anything, but pretty much my size and pretty lean looking. He started rowing at the weight I had it on.

And then, a marvelous thing happened: he sheepishly got up and made the weights lighter...like, a lot lighter. Like 6 plates lighter, which is like 60 or 70 lbs lighter. The BEST part was that he was so embarrassed that he kept looking over at us to see if we actually saw him do it. I think when he realized that we did was when he ended his one set and ran to the far side of the gym to do something else.

I almost died. But I feel so proud of myself. And a little freakish...but mostly proud ;-).

Fin.
