I officially began moving into my new office this afternoon. Actually, I started cleaning things up in there on Thursday. The new girl starts on Tuesday so I've got one more day to figure out where I'm going to start sticking all my crap.
I'm very excited about this transition. It's my first real step into my new career. There's no going backward anymore. I am no longer the assistant but will now have an assistant. The thought of that scares me cause I know I'm only getting older. I'll be working directly with CEO, Controllers, Financial Directors, Attorneys, Superintendents, etc.
At Meijer the other day, this old lady asked me if I could assist her in picking out a vanilla flavored vodka cause she couldn't "see with the glare from her new glasses." I found a nice bottle of Smirnoff for her in a 750 ml bottle for $9.99. She insisted on having a BIG bottle but 750 was the best I could find. She shared with me how she puts a little bit in her bedtime tea and it helps her sleep better.
I thought of my Dad and how I saw him (while we were up north) taking shots of Tequila before he went to bed on the evening before he left to make the trek back to Minnesota (read: 11 hour drive). I always think that when a person goes to bed drunk they never really get a good nights rest. At least that's how I feel the morning after polishing off a twelve pack.
Tonight we're having a bonfire in the yard. I wish Chewy were around to keep my feet warm.
