Youth work, film-making.
So I'm making a documentary about male anorexia and went to a campaign for an eating disorder ward in Plymouth. A young person I associate with in one of the youth groups I help with invited me. I got to interview (my) Deputy Lord Mayor and Mayoress, some people from MGEDT (Men Get Eating Disorders Too), the organiser of the event (who is also this particular young person's mum and carer!). The event was absolutely amazing - and very emotional too. Ollie's a very, very brave dude and his mum is an absolute legend. It's a pleasure to get to know them both! I'm doing this as a film project, which gets rid of a lot of the bureaucracy and supervision issues if it were to be youth work - but I am using a lot of youth work values I've been taught in order to accomplish this. I'm very excited :-)
And it made the paper today:

Another photo from the final calendar shoot:
That was before we nearly burned down my bedroom with yet more sparklers. Uff. And check out Matt the model. I love my job.
Here's a little preview of the final piece:
And here's Lai and I at Kerry's Halloween party. This was shortly before I lost the card game and had to drink a concoction of everybody else's drinks.
And then 150 calendars arrived (but we were only able to hold one each):
Life and tings
And then I did a photo shoot again:
Fitness: I'm regularly going swimming now. I had to invest in suitable attire, as the speedos I owned were not entirely suitable for public viewing. I now have a little pair of shorties - and no, there are no photos of me wearing them. Yet. Also have been regularly going to the gym at university and convinced Lai to join soon too. All that, combined with running regularly and I sometimes don't believe it's actually me, chain-smoking Foxy, doing it all. I want to smoke less and, as a result, eat nicer food. I look better, I feel just lovely.
Politics
One word: REVOLUTION.
A few more words: Goodbye coalition at the next election. Lib Dem has ruined the only chance it would ever get and the Tories have shown that they haven't so much as changed their knickers since the 1980s. One might argue that some of the protestors looked beautiful as they smashed the shit out the HQ. In the interests of fairness, one might argue that it was a minority who corrupted a peaceful and legitimate protest and it was very sad. I, however, don't trust any media outlet which says that 'most of the people disapproved of it'. Deep within each and every single person who was there, I am certain, is an anger as violent as the guy who smashed the front window, about the absolute hypocrisy that this government is exhibiting.
Plus, that shirtless guy booting in the window with the t-shirt wrapped 'round the lower half of his face was delicious:

Half of the profits (my half) will go towards sending me to Ecuador to work with little childrens who go to school, then work on farms, then go to bed and don't have iPods. So as a massive guilt trip, you should all place an order for one and I will personally send it to you at no extra cost. £8.
