Well, one project has ended and several others will begin soon. I hope you're all buying a copy of the calendar that Lai and I (not forgetting our amazing models!) worked on. We've seen the preview and it is beyyoootiful.

I just started a new diary. Do you want to know how it ended? The final line of the first entry went: "Well, this is my first entry in you, Mr Diary, written in my warm, cosy bedroom. I hope that one day next year, I am writing in you in Otavalo, Ecuador, having worked all day with Andean children and then eaten with a lovely host family."

Yes. In short, it is my aim within the year to have arranged and paid for 4-12 weeks of volunteering on this:

I won't harp on about the programme; you can read it all there. But what I will be doing for the foreseeable future to make this dream a reality, is fundraising for it in a variety of ways. I have already decided to use my half of the profits from the calendar towards it, so that's one guilt-trip to make you want to be surely? ;-)
I have two other solid ideas which I will announce in a few days. I will need about £1500, maybe more. I'm talking sponsored swims (I swim like a dead gopher), parachute jumps (don't mention Hollyoaks)... If I have to literally auction myself off for a week as a slave, I will do it.

I just thought I'd let you know about this, because it's a pretty big deal for me. If anybody has ever done anything like this before, feel free to get in touch with any advice you think I may not be aware of from any research or by looking at the FAQs on websites.

But yeah, trepidation. But excited. :-) Stay tuned for the first fund-raising event which everyone can participate in.
