Seeing as how I have some cash now, I decided to do a bit of driving today. I had no place in mind to go, so I just do what I always do...just drive!
To start off, I decided to go around and look at trucks. To be honest, I couldn't find too much. Nothing really met my one requirement: Manual Transmission. I found a few that did have MT, but the milage on them sucked badly (over 400K). I didn't want to have something that high. That usually doesn't last too long. Well afterwards, I was just driving. Drove through a bit of West County via Page Ave, a bit through Downtown, and across the river to Illinois. I haven't been over to the Metro East in a long while, so I had to refamiliarize myself with some of the routes. I love the Eads Bridge. Very easy access to Illinois if you don't want to take Martin Luther King or Poplar Street Bridges. Good thing I did too, because Poplar Street was crowed again with all the construction going on. I never really liked that bridge anyway. Continuing on, I then drove down my so far favorite Illinois State Route, IL-15. Never a dull moment driving that highway. It's always a smooth ride. Since I didn't want to go far, I doubled back when I reached IL-158, and took IL-13 back to IL-15. I then took a pit stop for gas at a brand new Flying J I spotted when I first came down IL-15. I haven't been inside a Flying J since my trucking days. Those were my favorite truck stops. Nice facilities, great internet site, and awesomeage food to go. Brought back a lot of good memories. After I feuled up, I continued back west to I-255 going north to State Street and then to IL-111. Going towards I-64 on IL-111 means going past some strip joints, and I don't know what came over me at this point, but I decided to take in the scenery at one of the joints. Instead of going to Larry Flint like I did that one night two years back, I went to one past it called Hollywood Club. I have to admit, I was a bit impressed by this one. Anyone who knows me well knows I don't really care much for strip clubs, and I only go to them when I'm extremely bored. This one was a lot more interactive than Larry Flint or the other place I went to in Saline County two years baci. One, the place is free daytime admission up unil 18:00, and two, the girls actually let you touch their breasts. I will say this though. Going to these places does help me get over my shyness when it comes to females. I am an extremely shy person, I'll have some of you know. I got to talk to one girl but briefly. She tried to get me to go for a private dance, but I declined. I didn't want to spend too much. If I feel like it, I might go back in two weeks. As of right now, I'm unsure though. Strippers are pretty expensive.
Anyways, left there, headed back to the city and back here. Not bad for a mini road trip. Maybe next time I'll go for another, and if gas doesn't go up again, maybe a longer one.
