Last time I posted here I was starting that kirby demonstration job. I quit it after two days on the job. there was no way I was going to get paid like they said. Its just a scam to enslave high school and collage kids out for the summer. Some people are able to make money, but the rest don't or hardly do. If there was less people involved and more costumers interested, maybe I could have made money. Sadly though it was too far of a commute for me to break even. But I did get one sale commission so it covered the gas I spent and a little extra that went towards bills.
After I left before I got screwed big, I had to empty out my storage and move what I was able to save and keep to my folks place and donated the rest. I got a $1000 tax donation deduction out of it at least. After I was able to get the internet bill lowered by about 20 a month less. My folks put my phone on their family plan and it dropped the cost by 40 and I now have data access. I was able to get the food stamps EBT card finally. That helps out a lot because my folks will pay me cash for using the card for food for the house.
Been looking and applying for work, but its hard to find anything that pays enough to go outside of the area or anything in the area that is hiring. I decided to say fuck it all and try for unemployment. Worse that can happen is I am denied, but it's worth a shot anyways. I am just waiting on any letters telling me yes or no. The local company I was checking in with now and then hired a couple of guys. Reason I wasn't hired was simply because those other guys were first ahead of me. However I am next on the list as I was told and that if those guys flake or there is another crew made, I'll be the first to be called in and hired. So here is to hoping for that. Still haven't heard about the railroad job yet. But they did say 2 to 8 weeks after the listing was taken down. SO who knows.
Meanwhile......... I went and reg'ed with the local community collage monday online and now am waiting for the student ID to be issued so I can start the process. My boyfriend scolded me and made me feel worse about my self because I haven't done so yet after I had gotten out of jail. So I will see about courses and what options I have, get financial aid, picked construction technology as a major for the time being, seeing how that will most likely have a LOT of good options available. Though considering the number of students and how the first come first serve works, I may not be able to get any classes till the next semester. But we will see. Trying to keep a positive outlook still, even as it gets harder and harder to do so.
Now, I had picked up my old bike I had given to my boyfriend over a year ago because he doesn't use it at all. And my folks bought me a new inner tube as that the rear tire was flat and the old tube valve was busted and clogged up with that green slime leak sealer. (the old tube was one of those that already had the mix in it) The front tube was fine, though the rim has a slight bend in one spot, but it is not that bad, considering of course the number of different people that have used it, the distance it has traveled, and that it is about 8 to 9 years old. Any-who, while I was working on the rear wheel, I found that the axle was not just loose, but that it was also bent; mainly because it was loose. Well, after taking it all apart, I took the bar to the vice and went to work straightening it, first by squeezing it int he vice, then after I got some progress with that, I gripped it with the vice and tapped at it with a hammer till it straightened out. SO I saved some money and headache by straightening the axle out and after cleaning the threads, remounted it, greased it up with some white lithium and locked it back down so it rode on the bearings and was nice and snug but spun free. After which I noticed that the wheel spun perfectly even and center (YAY!). a few days later i got the inner tube and a new tire liner to block thorns and other little puncturing nastie's on the road and dirt. I thought I had done the liner to the other bike I had, but I guess I had for this one before. ^v^ but figured replace the old weathered one with a new one we had bought anyways. Also the new tube is a bit thicker than the cheaper ones, so I wont have to worry too much about any random blow out from too much pressure (aka, my fat ass). After doing all that, I noticed that the front shocks were stiff and not free moving. So I took that apart. Oh wow! that stunk bad, rust and grime, rotten rain water and paper..... it was bad. But I guess after 8+ years, that would happen. so I did a quick clean up and restoration of everything in there. took out the springs and wiped them down, sprayed with WD-40 and more wiping and cleaning. Cleaned out the forks and areas for the springs and shock areas, then gave a good thick rub down with more white lithium grease, packed the fork tubes with the grease and put it all back together. Now it moves and returns after being pushed and bounced. I did a quick cleaning and oiling (doused good ol' WD-40) of the bike chain. it is the second chain I have had for that bike, as the old one broke on a former roommate one night years ago. its all good though. So today, I went out for a spin on the bike to see how well it works, anything else I need t fix or adjust, ect. Turns out I am going to need to adjust the line for the crank gear shifter to get to the third shift gear easier. Best I can figure, the line stretched over time with the weathering. (expansion and contraction from heat and cold. I live in the desert, there is a variable shift in temp by at least 40 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit every day from night to day to night again.) so no biggy, just a little bit of a pain to adjust. Also found out that yes, my fat ass is out of shape, but not as badly as I thought. I did a good 6 mile round trip going down the road, down to another road, then making a circle back up another road to another, back to a main road I started out on then back home. I had to take a quick break and sit down and rest in the shade by a school on the way back at about mile 5 because I was getting really light headed. the last half of the ride was all uphill too Still, it was good exercise for me and adds towards getting back in shape.
Now, for something I've told a few others so far, and I figure I'll just come out about it. The day after I was chewed out by my boyfriend and felt even worse about my self, I went and said fuck it and chopped off my hair. It was a messy chop job on my part and way uneven. My folks were all WTF and wanted to know why. Just told them I did it because I was depressed and eh. After some talk, I got out the shears and we trimmed my remaining hair down to be even all over so it didn't look so bad. I saved a good size lock of my hair just because. I might mail it to my BF. He doesn't read this anyways. But now my head is short trimmed and feels interesting like long stubbies. Many local furs might remember when I had done this last time in 2008 and came to califur hair short and face shaved of all hair. Hardly anyone recognized me. But so I did the deed because it was self mutilation that is almost harmless and not a permanent mark. For those that don't know this, Birds can, have and do pluck their selves when they are depressed or shunned. Though not all and you don't often see t, but it does happen.
Now, for some lighter news. A couple of weekends ago, being the 3rd of July, I was at Zentrin's party for Iceman. This was awesome and a lot f fun. I arrived early/ on time and helped out and got down to business. I was asked to be acting security for the event and to keep an eye on things and folks. Everything went fine and great, aside from the power outage. But that didn't stop us furries. We WILL have a party, power or not. So vex brings out his car with the speakers and lights, and gets the music going. then later Trigger happy squirrel brings around his van and plugs in the lighting tree we put together and now we have a car powered insta raven going on. Furs are dancing, raving, glow sticking about, and a good time had by all. The power outage happened right at dusk as it was starting to get dark and was out for a few hours before coming back on. Then we got the rave on stage going before the power went out again for few minutes before coming back on. After a few power issues and a new cable brought out, the rave and music was on and went on into the night. Everyone behaved their selves and there was no issues outside of the cops coming to tell us there was a noise complaint. So that was at 2 am and the music ended. I finally had some booze to drink when everyone started passing out and got to just chill out. I look forward to another great time and party.
So now here I am, just relaxing from the bike ride and checking out stuff on FA and looking for any jobs and applying. I hope I can go to the PS in August. If so, I will be able to get my hand talon paws from Brianna this time. Will be nice to have that done finally. ^v^.
