Buffy the Vampire Slayer, season nine, issue thirteen, "Guarded" part Three, page six, panel one.
Buffy punches Kennedy in the face.
I have been waiting for this moment for ten years.
Oh, it's so glorious I could cry!
It was worth it, y'all! I can die happy now!
Maybe it's a little unfair of me, but Kennedy was the only character I neither liked nor appreciated.
I was never a fan of Eve (from Angel, I'm a bit indifferent to the dead potential), but she was supposed be, well, evil, so I wasn't really supposed to be a fan of her, so I didn't mind not being a fan of her. I felt like the way I felt about Eve was the way I was supposed to feel about Eve, which made me like that I didn't like her.
But with Kennedy, she was there, she was obnoxious, and not in an endearing way, and I didn't like her, but apparently I was supposed to. Hey, everyone in the show liked Kennedy, so why didn't I? She a good guy, right?
Kennedy simply is not a character who was developed, likable, or interesting enough to deserve the amount of screen time she had. Kennedy also causes another potential to commit suicide because she was so cruel to her. Yeah, Wills, good choice.
She's bratty and pompous, and she's proud of being bratty and pompous. She lies and sneaks out and tricks Willow into going on a date with her and just in general acts nasty to characters that I actually do like. This is not the way to write a likable character, guys.
