i've got myxamytosis

I do. I really do. Dead bunnies are everywhere.

The reference, if you are not aware, is from the track "Myxamytosis" off Radiohead's latest album "Hail to the Thief". Myxamytosis is the name that was given to a form of disease which killed off tons of rabbits over in England I believe back a long time ago. so anyways....

the album is incredible. buy it. listen to it non-stop. it will begin to make sense. I got it at the midnight release the other night, came home, put on the headphones and started working on a new site design for www.socalledlonely.com. I worked and listened til almost 4am. With each new spin it was growing on me in new ways. By late today after driving around throughout the day listening in the car it has finally reached its breaking in point. The few songs or parts of songs that I didn't quite get in the beginning are now clicking. I'm also finding myself loving the songs most that I orginally didn't even get in the first few listens.

what annoys me about all of this however is that thom and the guys wrote, constructed, arranged, and built these songs from the ground up in a matter of about 2 and a half weeks. It has taken me approximately 10-15 listens to just start to understand and "get" these songs. They freaking wrote them in a matter of 2 weeks! What kind of creative level do you have to live on to do that? Geeze.

so it's just past midnight. I needed to write 2 Perl programs and a simple Javascript program tonight for next week cause I'm leaving town for 8 days this Friday. Scott and I are leading worship up at a youth camp in SC. But I just realized that I have accumulated enough extra credit to skip the 2 Perl programs. Sweet. Now I might get some sleep tonight. But oh wait....

the Wilco dvd "I am Trying to Break Your Heart" is sitting here beckoning me. I watched this documentary on a big screen about a month ago....absolutely incredible. It is my all-time favorite dvd right now. And that's saying a lot, trust me. So I might just have to watch it tonight cause, man, I'm dying to see it again.

Well, off to work and play and sleep...
