I doesn't surprise me how close I am to Humanism. I believe in many things, but I believe most strongly that humanity needs to do good works and make the world a better place, because it is right in of itself. Doing it for fear of divine punishment, now or later, or to score points for the afterlife, is something we need to move past. Good for its own sake, life helping life. I don't really care one way or the other if I'm saved, its other people I want to help, and the life around me. Thats me, though. Others live other ways, and it takes all kinds to balance things, some fight, some go with the flow.
