We Drink a Lot of Coffee

A lot.  Really.  The coffee maker is a necessity.  But I like fresh ground coffee.  Fresh, fresh, fresh.  I also like my coffee maker to wake up before I do and make the coffee because it's nice to wake up to fresh-brewed coffee, especially if it is made with freshly ground beans, and I am basically a lazy person.

Enter the Capresso Coffee TEAM S, Model #545.  We bought this coffee maker several years ago.  It was expensive at the time, and is fairly expensive still today (though the price is the same as we paid for it almost ten years ago).  There is nothing in the world like the happy sound of the coffee-bot waking up, grinding the beans and making coffee.

Here's the thing.  We've had this same coffee maker for so long and use it so much we have worn out parts to it.  We blew out the display in a lightning strike, worn out the burr grinder, and most recently burned out the heating element (the first and last items especially usually constitute the death knell for a coffee maker.  This one will work without the grinder, you just have to grind the beans yourself).  Although each time the our coffee-bot was out of warranty, each time I called Capresso and for a reasonable fee, they sent me a UPS label so I could return it and they would re-condition the entire unit and return it.

This last time, I called Capresso, had the mailing label within a few days, and shipped off the unit.  I shipped it off on the 4th, and it came back via UPS today!  Completely reconditioned, new heating element, new display and looks like a new grinder.  Nicely cleaned up and ready to rock!  I am even enjoying a fresh cup of joe even as I write this.  That's a two-day turn around and a one-year warrantly on the work they did.  It's nice to see some companies still believe in making and standing behind good products and great customer service.  Bravo, Capresso!

food, the good stuff
