Author's Note: Pensieve Souls, Chapter 16

1) Liseli understanding the motives for why one might become a Death Eater is supposed to be important and will become even more important later.

2) Liseli and Severus having the same wand core is supposed to show some similarity between them (especially considering Pottermore's information on wand cores), although actually if I were to re-write the chapter again, I'd probably just take that out; it's not particularly important, and as Severus points out, dragon heart string is relatively common.

3) When Severus thinks about how women in traditional pureblood families aren't supposed to show their arms, that's a reference to my headcanon, elaborated on in this post: http://foxglove44.livejournal.com/95837.html (To quote the relevant part: "Once children hit puberty, it is expected that girls will wear modest clothing that covers up to and including the wrists and ankles; they are also expected to wear skirts and not slacks. Boys are similarly expected to wear more modest clothing once they hit puberty; they are expected to never be shirtless in public, and they are also expected to always wear long sleeves and long pants. This is why Death Eaters having their Dark Marks on their forearm isn’t considered that big of a deal - because traditionally their arms are always covered, anyway.") That being said, it's important to mention that Severus is merely assuming Liseli comes from a super traditional family. In reality, while her family is still relatively traditional (e.g. she and her brothers were heavily encouraged to wear 'modest' attire), they are less traditional than some families (e.g. the Blacks), and would not have been forced to wear such attire.

Cheers!

P.S. As always, I'm curious if anyone reads my Livejournal posts, so if you have read this please comment, even if the entirety of your comment is literally "Purple Mountain Goats."
