Day two in the books as we made our way from Montreal to Quebec. Actually, we overshot the target. We booked a hotel before getting there, and it turns out we booked a hotel about 20 miles past where we ideally would have been. Turns out we ended up at a ski lodge, which means we got a good deal over their standard rates as it's not exactly ski season on the first of August. Managed to grab a few caches on the way out here, perhaps not as many as we'd've liked (enjoy the double contraction there?) but about what you have to expect when your day is really mostly travel. That's the difficult thing about this trip; it's all travel. We're going to go so many places, but we just won't be able to stop and enjoy much of any of them.
That being said, the view of Montreal from Mont Real is really quite astounding, even if it's a foggy day. That big thing over the stadium was for the Olympic cauldron, right? Seems familiar, and I really can't come up with any other excuse. Certainly doesn't seem like a practical support structure from an architectural standpoint. Because, you know, I'm an architect in my spare time. Or something.
Oh, and to the small tree I may have injured today: Really sorry about that. But I didn't want to continue careening down that hill any more than I had to. I apologize profusely if my traction control problems have forever stunted or ended your growing processes. Best of luck, little tree!
