Cut a Hole in a Box, Put Your Gym in That Box

Okay, so kitara and I are out looking for some only marginally related birthday items, and wandered into our not-so-local GameStop. Noticed as we came in that they had a sign saying "Wii Fit, now in stock!" Huh. Everything I'd heard was that those things were going to be about as hard to come by as actual Wiis were around lauch. (Which sidetracks me to say that we weren't planning on trying to get a launch-day Wii, but woke up a little early that morning and decided "Why not?" Knew I'd want one eventually, so we did a little driving around, found that any place which had already opened was sold out, saw a huge line at Target, then made it to a Best Buy where there was another huge line, but it was a line where folks were holding tickets. Drove up, asked the employee if there would be any left if we got in line now, and he said sure. So we parked, got in line, waited half an hour for the store to open, and then waited probably another hour as the folks ahead of us were taken care of. After the shortages that were apparent after launch, I'm glad we decided to go for it.)

Anyway, Wii Fit. They apparently had two left in the store, so we gladly picked one of them up. Asked the guy at the counter how they were selling and he said "Well, we had 150 preorders, and this one is now our last copy." The question that jumps to mind is what happened to the rest of the preorders, since I'm going to bet their shipment wasn't enough to cover everyone. I guess that if you wait a couple of days, they open them up to walk-ins or something. Regardless, glad we got our copy. It's pretty entertaining, and while I don't think it's a be-all end-all solution to physical fitness, it's a pretty darn good way to get off the couch and do something entertaining. Of course, that's also the case of my other favorite series, DDR, but sometimes I just don't want to get up and get that sweaty. When I play DDR, I play the hard and fast stuff, and that definitely gives you a hell of a workout. May talk more about that later, and will probably report in on Wii Fit more as well if I make myself sit down and do it, but for now? The step aerobics is probably my favorite thing. Unlocked the Advanced one, and I think there's one more to be unlocked soon, so I'll have to keep working on it until I can totally trip myself up.
