The Beauty of Beauty

I have officially finished all my homework. Well, okay, maybe not officially, I still have yet to read the assigned Macbeth reading, but that shouldn't be too hard. As long as I've been reading and seeing Shakespeare plays, I should get them by now. Not that I know everything or anything like that. I mean, I do know stuff because I took a Shakespeare class at Coca once where we acted, and learned all about iambic pentameter, and how Shakespeare's writing works. But, like I said, I don't know that much. At times, I do get very confused and have to ask myself, "What the f*** is he talking about?" And then I have to go back and slowly read the words to myself. It does take time. A lot of time.

I must say, I really do adore Mr. Nagy. He's just so great and fun. Yes, his class can be extremely dull, and he can be an ass, but I just love him. Today, before Lauren went to Anime Club, and I went to drama, we dropped off at Nagy's. At one point I noticed Nagy's shoe had dirt on it, and I said to Lauren, "Look, Mr. Nagy has dirt on is shoe. I, however, don't, because I live in Missouri, and he lives in Illinois." And then she said, "Yeah, we, therefore, are cooler, 'cause we live in Missouri. We aren't farmers like Mr. Nagy. We are just cool like that." Mr. Nagy said, "What?" We're like, "Nothing." I'm like, "Well, we were just saying that you live in Illinois, and are therefore not cool." "You're right. I do live there." Then Lauren and I started cracking up about imagining Nagy on a tractor, just toodling along, and then he falls off. For some reason, we just found that hilarious. I suppose we were being buttheads, plus liars: Missouri does not rock. We're just idiots and Republicans. Blagh. Mr. Nagy did compliment my new hair cut: "Hey, Sarah, you got your hair cut." "Yeah, I know, Mr. Nagy." "It looks really nice." "Oh...thanks."

Last night I did get my hair cut, though. My mom got her hair dyed, as usual, and mine was cut. This time, though, I wanted it really cut. So I told Anna, my hair dresser (She's this early thirties Russian woman who happens to also have a really cute Israelian husband. Anyway...), to cut it a lot this time, like, more than she has ever done. She sure did.

Don't you love watching beauty? I just look at it and think, "Geez, God did something right." I mean, you look at the war, and think the world is so ugly, but it's really not. Just because Bush is ugly, does not mean the whole world is. I mean, just so many can be so gorgeous if you look all over: their face, personality, everything. It's all there for you to see. And, sometimes, I think people take advantage of this great privilege. Sure, there's a lot of poverty, but do you really think those poor people wake up each day and think, "This world is crap. What reason is there to live?" I honestly don't think so. Maybe I'm being naive, or just hopeful that they don't say that, and that they embrace what little they have. I hate these suicidal people that just don't see all the beauty. They just decide to think only of the now, and that there's no way their life could get better. Sometimes my mom and I get in a tough spot, but you know what? I always, I mean always, gets better, no matter what I think.

Biology was really great yesterday. I mean, the best it's been in weeks. Nobody made any totally rude comments to Nagy like they usually do. And we got to watch an interesting video that, for once, did not look like it had been made in some scientist's backyard.

Well, a very long entry. -cat meows-
