went to a friends (as in quaker) meeting today. interesting. josh i think you might like it. want to come next week?
EDIT: to clarify. we showed up a bit late, couldn't find the unitarian church the green country friends meeting is hosted in. got there, walked in on a group of 5 people sitting silently in a circle. the brought chairs for us, we sat and closed our eyes and listened/pondered. after 15 minutes one lady spoke briefly about something she'd read about unprovoked kindness. 30 more minutes of silence. stood up, held/squeezed hands briefly. then chatted a bit with the people there. they were jazzed to have us. then they happened to be doing a group reading of an old quaker books so we stayed for that. went around the circle reading aloud, stopping for comment. stood again, held hands and squeezed. said goodbye.
the people there were pleasant and odd. very unlikely group.
