off to Germany tomorrow! We have big plans: Christmas markets in Baden and Karlsruhe, he mentioned something about a media museum, castles, hiking, a casino if we feel like getting dressed up, and the Roman baths (entrance fee is his parents' Xmas present to us). I'm excited, nervous, and sad. Also my parents sent me a package and tried their damnedest to get it to me before I left, but FedEx didn't have the code for the gate outside my apt so they couldn't get in and were missing a digit from my phone number so couldn't call me. I waited all day today, but nothing. Luckily Candice will be home the whole time, so I hope they get it here on Monday when she has a day off. I'm coughing a bit but nothing too bad, and Jens anticipates our first argument as we try to fit all of our clothing for a week into a shared duffel bag just bigger than my backpack- oh, and he wants to bring a huge stuffed animal the size of a small child. the brand is called "squishable" for a good reason, but we'll have to see how it works. He thinks the real argument, btw, will be over my makeup bag which I insist is hardly excessive considering it contains everything for hair, shaving, face, and teeth.

anyway, I've been procrastinating leaving long enough. It's time to go spend Christmas in Germany.
