lately:
went out Sat to celebrate Kimmy's 23rd and my finishing... got too drunk and went home an hour before everyone else. but the next day J and I walked to Ranelagh from his place and, though Burritos and Blues was closed (assholes), we did go to Tribeca, where we had a big basket of quite decent (by american standards. by irish standards these things were poetry) buffalo wings!
met J's friend Sarah last night over homemade knoedel and store (market)-bought organic lamb meatballs. and beat both of their asses at scrabble.
covered a class this morning
saw the musical episode of Scrubs and it took nearly the entire time to figure out that the guest star was Kate Monster... and now I'm seriously tempted to download the thing on itunes. so loved it.
J's family is coming this weekend, arriving Thursday night and leaving early the next week.
No word from that other school- emailed them on Friday being like "so that possible job opening you mentioned two weeks ago... is it open?" I'm gonna call them on Friday just to check one last time, then give up.
However, one of my afternoon students tells me her boyfriend's looking for private tutoring. Ka-ching, if that happens. how much do I quote her- same price as before, 25 an hour? More?
tomorrow I'm going with J to The Magic Flute set in South Africa. I've never seen this opera before, so I'm really excited. Also he's going to look at Talyn and check the startup programs list. This should fix a lot of lagginess. Did I mention the other night that I cleared out 8gb of space by deleting more than a gig of videos and dumping the recycle bin? I like being able to recover stuff if I want to, but at the same time it's vaguely annoying to, in essence, have to delete stuff twice. and the first time it doesn't show any space actually freed up on the HD. Disheartening, that is.
