reasons to smile
1) I'm gonna get a visit from Jacob laZAR (a.k.a. princeton in avenue jew, the cutest fruit Brandeis has to offer)!! he's in Copenhagen this semester and already announced his midterm break and wants to visit for a few days.
2) Jens mentioned to his dad that I mightn't be going home in December (as mama rightly said, I'll have seen them in Nov and flights would be costly). First thing his dad said was "invite her over here!" So we'll see about that.
3) wrote another like 2000 words yesterday. Most of them may turn out to be crap, but WHEW, the juices are finally flowing! I'm seeing progress. There's a pinprick of light at the end of the tunnel, and it's all downhill until the conclusion. Revised thesertation schedule: I have a 2k-word draft of Methods that urgently needs Jeff's experienced eye to tell me if it's what they need or total crap. I'm plugging and chugging away on analysis but it will not be done today. Tomorrow's the goal. Saturday I'll do last touchups on my intro, and then I'll write the conclusion between Sunday and Wednesday the 10th. That still leaves me a week to re-draft.
4) Z left for Paris yesterday. I assume he should be there by now. Kim's still working on hotel stuff for me and J... something will work out, though, I'm not worried.
we had really weird weather yesterday, from warm blowing mist to dumping buckets to sunshine. Today seems to be sunny. I'll cover a CAE class tonight and I think it's the one two of my FCE students moved up to. J is an awesome BF and has come over here without hesitation rather than me going to his while I'm in my writing groove. He brought Indian food last night. And tomorrow I get to go to Google lunch!
