my calendar pattern is completed. rehearsal last night was a hoot, and I'm so glad that it was. we needed one like that, especially for the new girls (with whom we are all pleased as punch).
I lost my left glove, though, doing a crew coupon-distribution fundraiser. and the boiler for our oil burner ran out of water so we had no heat and no hot water all night. I just called and was helped to fix it it about half an hour ago, but it's still 55 degrees in my room.

today I have to choose a general topic for my independent study. Ferry gave me more ideas on Monday. This will be a challenge. There's just so much i'm interested in!

captain's practice this morning was running. it hurt. and we have a second workout, to boot.

I'm going to go put warm things into my belly.

Also, I had some crazy dreams. One that we had to find padlocks that had been hidden around an office or library, not locked around anything, and unlock them. It was a scavenger hunt. They all had the same combination, which we also had to figure out first.
Then, that whole fantasy scenario of me landing in someone else's body -- we were in a group with two factions, the fiddles and the clarinets. I was a fiddler, and I learned that the person whose body I was in was in love with a clarinetist. (what, brain, can't you be any more creative than my only love sprung from my only hate?) The fiddlers wore bright green t-shirts, and the clarinets wore a darker green. There was a huge meeting, and on my way to it a voice spoke to me from a tree. It was a kid, asking if something-I-don't-remember-now would be over soon. Suddenly I realized I was playing the part of Neo, and I'd save the world when it ended, soon, and reassured him there'd be Harry Potter in the afterlife or something. I could see the outline of his lips moving, but that's all. There was flute music going on, too, which I brought up at the meeting when the clarinets argued that the kid was on their side.
I wanted to get a message to my clarinetist love, so I left a fork and knife wrapped in bright green cloth in what I thought was his trunk of clothing but which I realized was just my brother's. I woke up then, though I wanted to see the end of the dream. Eight hours of sleep and I was still really sleepy. I'm taking a nap today.

yesterday's quote (I think I'm safe here because I don't think Sean checks lj any more; he hasn't updated in two years): "The soda machine is just so tappable!"
Honestly, in the middle of our conversation about how much more sense than the States Ireland made, he just stopped and said he felt the urge to hit the soda machine. So he did. And then insisted I not quote him on it because of the double meanings of "tap." Love my friends.
