the grand'rents left this morning. in the meantime, mom put grandpa's digi's memory card into the reader in the printer, copied 20 photos onto the computer and managed to erase FIVE HUNDRED others. so anyway, I was awoken at 7 to bid them adieu, grazie, and slan abhaile. this was a "problem" because I only got to sleep around 3 in the morning. it was not a problem because a) I went back to sleep once they left and 2) I was not unhappy at the
reason to have stayed up so late.
I was reminiscing about high school with clay, jo, and evan (with oz ever so patiently listening/falling asleep on jo's couch)... at jo's house with no one else home, so we could yell and hoot and sing as loudly as the hell we wanted. Clay and I were granted the honor of reading aloud Alex's yearbook message to Jo, and it was her first time experiencing the thing. The entire rest of the school read it and assured her she had to marry him -- he told her he'd had a crush on her since the first time they debated freshman year and just spent the whole rest of the time saying how much of an amazing person she was. we told her that even if the religion would get in the way of marriage (him havin' just gone off on a SECOND mission while her bein' barely catholic and all), she needed to get back in contact with him. but really, I would love so much for those two to get together. He asked her to prom their senior year with a bunch of white tulips, the very day after she'd said she would go with some bum from another school she once debated with or something.
then drunk evan put on his captain buzzkill sweatpants saying he didn't like alex as much as the rest of the world did, and not much could shut him up about that. we distracted him by singing vintage encore, i think. No, it was by talking about the costumes. then we sang. Clay spurred me to make myself remember the start of Ode to Music. (future reference? piano: treble C, C, C c-chord-with-g-on-top....
voice: (C octave unison) Muuuuusiiiiiic......
(on an f) Muuuuusic, the measure of the plaaanet's moooootioooooon.....
yeah.
and before that, I was at Evan's house drinking and watching Creighton Middle School perform The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. I've waited seven and a half years to see that show. It was all I had remembered and more. it was priceless.
during the day, I used my amazon gift certificate to get the scooper-duper deluxe Dreamgirls 2-cd set as well as the DVD of Chicken Run. Thinking of receiving these items makes me very happy.
and now? ripping CDs. missing BNL tracks and old choir shit! again, very exciting. also, the next few days are just full of plans, am -- pm.
friday: sledding?? -- tea and then zengo happy hour
saturday: service at mom's syn, with a special talk by some folklorist from... somewhere -- karaoke and rocky
sunday: prospie schmooze -- perhaps a pub crawl.
it appears my Maroon's too scratched to import Helicopters. Can someone send it to me? Please?
