cousin nancy and bodhran nancy

May 29, 2006 10:03

these may be cousin nancy's final days.
she's very weak and sleeping most of the time. when she's awake, she is short-tempered. and this does not happen with nancy.

so i'm going with my mom to see her, sick or no. it's past the point of mattering and mom is pretty sure I'm not contagious any more.

on a happy note, the session last night was good craic. rather more chill than any of the sessions over in ireland, but at least the players know the names of all the tunes they're playing. also, nancy who taught me like 2 bodhran lessons a couple years ago was there. plus, free drink for the players! that's certainly better than in ireland. took scyfygy and he quite enjoyed it as well, even contributing a couple of songs. I think they appreciated us. after the session, mike drove me home and we shared laughs about kleptomania and other manias in his car until way late. then i took some old cough medicine and slept through the night.

as expected, the guinness isn't as good here, but it's drinkable enough. and I had (and enjoyed) a black & tan.
how exciting. free drink! i'll need to bring a designated driver with me every week.
also, this one tends to go from 7-10 rather than from 9-11:30/12. they stayed late last night as it was memorial day, only closing up as the bar did.

i found a session!

off to drink sore-throat-helping tea, call B&N about the app I turned in yesterday, and visit nancy.
tonight: clay and joanna time! curb your enthusiasm, jose o'shea's (where i have been planning my meal for MONTHS, and i'm serious: one beef and one cheese enchilada. beans and rice. and a strawberry freaking daiquiri!), and an art fillum.

nancy, sick, friends, to do, booze, craic, denver, session
