Friday night, I went into Boston to play Trivial Pursuit with my cousin on a whim. Some Russians her roommate had met came over, and two of them were from Brandeis. They spent the whole time drinking. I tried to get home, but spent half an hour at the T stop three blocks from Natalie's place before determining that I'd missed the last train. Thankfully, she'd already offered to let me stay at her place, so instead of going home, I just took her up on the offer. I slept on a down mattress on the floor next to her bed. Her alarm went off at 10, so she said to me, "It's only 10... let's sleep some more," but I heard "It's only 2..." so when Emily called at 11, I thought it was like 3, and she asked if she'd woken me, and I was thinking, "It's really late to be waking someone up...."
But I had a really weird dream that night. I dreamed that Allison and I were getting on a bus, and the driver stopped her and asked her how much she weighed, for concerns that the bus wouldn't be able to go with her on. She said "915," and took offense and got in an argument with the driver. Then she collapsed, and I was told she died of a heart attack. So I went back in time, convinced her not to stop in the front of the bus, and we got to where we were headed in the first place -- something that took place in the lobby of a hospital, incidentally enough. So we got there, and then Alli says, "I wanna dance!" She starts us all going in this big circle, and suddenly (at the same time it happened on the bus), she starts clutching her chest, and then she collapses. We called a nurse over, but the nurse said Alli'd died instantly. Then I went to some holiday feast, and I told Larissa, and while we were kinda saddened, it didn't sink in. Just like with my grandpa.
Then there was this revolving Christmas tree. If you walked inside it at one point, it'd take you to an Indian feast. Another point got you to Chinese, and a third got you to American Christmas foods.
So I stayed at Natalie's place overnight, watched "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" in the morning, and got home. Yep. AIM shut down and I lost one of the funniest conversations I've had with Linz recently. Piss.
Today, nothing special. At all. Yeah. Go Pats... um... oh, and our archo prof deserves to be shot. We (Miriam, Beth and I) think that because we requested to be one presentation group, he gave us the second-earliest date and a site we can't find jack shit about. It's really, really obscure, and totally, bafflingly, annoying. Anyone know anything about Tel Erani?
I've decided to write a song in French. No idea what it'll be about. It all started out with the song we heard in French on Wednesday, then was re-compounded by hearing Fru's Nuits de Reve today. I mean, if poetry was arousal, man, I'd be having multiple orgasms over these lyrics. *winkity wink*
Here's some good news! I've gotten Matt hooked on both GBS and Farscape, and he may be joining us for GBS in Boston on 3-20! Wahoo!
Half of me says I have lots of work. Half of me says it's nothing, and will successfully beat the initiative-taking side in procrastinating till the night before. Well, I mean, I do have Tuesday off. (Thanks, Prof. McIntosh!)
Tomorrow will be fun for undiscloseable reasons. As well as Emily's birthday party in Boston!
Makin' part of Linz's Chrisanukkawanzaadanthday present now... wahoo!
