So the holidays are over and we made it through. I ended up spending way more than I had budgeted, so it was a blessing when I received an unexpected check from my Uncle just before Christmas. He said it was a portion of life insurance that my grandma had and had just finally paid out. It wasn't a ton of money by any means, but it sure did cushion my account from the holiday spending.
Christmas was hectic, we had a lot of people to visit and a lot of parties to go to. Not that I'm complaining, but there were times when I longed for the quiet simple holidays of my past. But it is nice that I am getting to be closer to my uncle, and my cousins. Plus, with Chrissy's family so large there's no "quiet" anywhere around them.
For New Year's Eve we went to our friend's and bowling teammates house. There were only a few of us there and it was nice to spend time with people we enjoy hanging with. I had a few too many shots though and woke up with a heck of a hang over. But I got to break in my new Sour Apples to Apples game and it was a riot.
Just got back from the dentist. I had to have a filling and my mouth is just now starting to thaw. But while I was under the influence of the gas I finally realized who my dentist sounds like. I had been thinking he sounded so familiar, but finally I realized that he sounds just like
Steve Gonsalvas from one of my favorite shows ever Ghost Hunters. So I spent the rest of my time geeking out to his voice, which is really kind of sexy. I don't think I can look at my dentist quite the same anymore.
So now I sit with my mouth still frozen and I must get some work done today.
