Phoenix days 1-3

Mar 08, 2005 08:41

Just checking in from the wonderful Phoenix, AZ. Well, really Tempe, but they are so close so who really cares? :)

So I arrived on Sat. Plane landed a little early, about 3:20. I was able to get my luggage and everything before my sister and her boyfriend got there. We went out to lunch/dinner and Joe's Crab Shack right after. We got home right before the rain started falling. And rain it did, most of the evening. I just kinda settled in, unpacked. We all talked and hung out. Watched the Suns game. Oh yes, and happy late birthday to LAUREN! <3

Sunday we were going to go to a game, but it was supposed to rain and did a bit through the day. So my sister and I went shopping at the Chandler mall. I think overall it's a better mall than Scottsdale which I normally love. We had lunch at The Cheesecake Factory. YUM. We didn't buy much, but we were gone most of the day. It was nice just to hang out with my sister. Came back home, has some drinks, pizza, watched tv and the Suns again.

Monday I went to my first game YAY! A's vs. Dbacks. A's won 5-0. Great game. Harden looked great, three innings with three hits? Very good performance from him. Eric Byrnes also looked good with a nice bases clearing double in the first. I'll tell you who did NOT look good, that is Russ Ortiz. Yet the Dbacks fans still cheered when he left! Stupid people. All the regulars played so that was nice. My first glimpse at Jason Kendall. I'm SOOOO glad he's here. I've always loved him. And he had a very good game too.

Pregame was a lot of players I didn't know. The only players I saw pregame that were from last years team were Justin Duchscherer, Octavio Dotel and Bobby Crosby. A few others I knew like Nick Swisher and a couple of the new guys. My favorite new guy so far? Charles Thomas! What a cutie and all smiling and signing autographs for people. And the silliness of Freddie Bynum and I THINK Jermaine Clark. Just dancing away and acting for the camera :)

This was the first time I got to use my new camera as a baseball game. I'm really happy with the way the pics turned out. I took over 100. I'd love to post them, but my sisters computer doesn't have an editing program I'm familiar with and I'm not editing 115 photos by hand. Of course that means I'll have 5 billion to edit when I get home. Oh well :)

The weather was BEAUTIFUL yesterday. Mid to hi 70's. I got a little red, but nothing that's uncomfortable. The A's are off today, so in a bit I'm going to head to Tempe and do a little shopping down Mill Ave. I love it down there. Talk to you all soon <3
