As a follow up to the previous post, I'm doing about as well as can be expected. I tried to make Gwenn's last weekend as great as possible, with lots of love and extra treats. Yesterday we said goodbye to our amazing beagle Gwenn. It was without a doubt one of the hardest experiences of my life. The combination of her heart issues, ongoing back and ACL injuries, increasing anxiety/aggression, and tumors (non-cancerous but requiring surgery due to being on her eyelids) was finally impacting her quality of life too much ( Read more... )

Hu talked to the vet yesterday. The beagle does, in fact, have some level of heart disease. The vet thinks it is fairly mild to moderate at this point, but is concerned since she didn't have any symptoms last year. The only way to know more would be an EKG and X-Ray.
