After his conversation with Buffy and a coincidental conversation with a stranger it didn't take him long to get his hands on what he liked to call the company car. Sure, it was his - until someone else needed it. But, right now, they didn't and even if someone needed a ride, Giles had one as well and this was more important

Tabby walked over towards the front door, head bobbing to the music blaring from her head phones, with air drums well included.
She stops before she nearly runs into the poor man and grins at him, pulling one head phone out so she doesn't have to ask him to scream his name at her.
"Tabby Smith and you arree?"

"Oh uh, hi," he replied, not expecting the door to be opened so quickly. "Xander - is my name and I'm -" He began to introduce himself but was distracted by the house - mansion? - itself and couldn't help but step by her completely to get a better look. Turning around, he spit out a few more words. "Buffy. I'm here for Buffy. Maybe with Buffy. But - she's a friend. Buffy is."

"Oh! The nice blonde chick that looks like she could kill us with a bowl of Wheaties in hand? Yeah she's here!"

"Um," he replies, not holding back a smile. "Yeah. That's her. And she could probably kill you with two." He smirked. "Just saying. Girl's not only resilient but resourceful."

"She should be inside kicking ass and taking names, or more likely unpacking."

"Um, can you tell me when she arrived here," he asked, continuing to get his lay of the front lobby/foyer area-thing. He was never good at indicating a room name.

"A day or two I think?"

"Wow," he replied, nodding. Talk about rash decisions, he thought. "Does she seem happy? I mean, I know she just arrived but -- does she seem to be...enjoying herself?"

"Yeah, I've only bumped into her once or twice but she seems really excited."

"Good," he replied, genuinely happy for her but a bit of something else he couldn't pinpoint in general. "That's good. I'm sorry, you said your name was -" Had she said her name?

"Xander," he replied, a small laugh escaping. "But, I said that and you said that and somehow I've become socially ... challenged..."

"No worries Xander, happens sometimes when you get put into the middle of a giant ass mansion."

"It -" He huffed and slowly shook his head. "OK, it happens with me. But, in the older, wiser but not old years it's happened less often. I guess it's just...a lot. She kind of left without --" he said, not finishing his sentence.

"Without any warning?"

"Yeah," he replied. "I mean, no." He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "We had conversations about how she felt but, then she left - then, without telling us. But, there was, there was warning."
