Well, much to my shock, the raspberry Long Island Iced Tea mix they sell in the liquor stores ... is really good! I'm a little too loopy to write anything about what I've been doing lately, but I'll try anyway.
On the Fourth, Art, Artie and I went out to a place right outside of West Fargo, where people drive to shoot fireworks off. Fourth of July fireworks are the highlight of Artie's year. He and I stayed in the car while Art shot the stuff off. I really prefer watching other people shoot them off as opposed to a professional fireworks display - the fireworks are constantly going off, rather than there being a 3 minute pause while the next batch is being set up. It's amazing how many times Artie can ask "Where fireworks go??" during that short 3-minute pause. Anyhow, Art needed a punk at one point, and he stuck his head in the car and asked me to hand him one. Out of nowhere, Artie yelled "Damn punks!" Art asked him where he heard that phrase. Artie pointed to me and said "From my mommy." Oops, busted!
Art's parents and nephew stayed over on Monday night. Art's dad's shoulder was really bothering him, and he was going to the Vets hosp. Tuesday morning. My parents came over Monday morning. Mom's feeling a lot better - she's got a lot of her hair back and the sores in her mouth are healing up really well. She was actually able to eat (and taste) the pork chops Art made without discomfort. She had developed an upper respiratory infection, but was beginning to feel better from that. They bnoth said they really appreciated being invited over to our place. I was just glad to have the time with them.
Oh dear. This was supposed to be short, and I just wrote you fine folks a novel ...
