Prince 07.07.07

So...I just got back from the Prince concert.  You may all touch me now.

I'd say more except I'm too tired to be coherent.  Just...the last time I saw him, he brought out Morris Day & The Time.  Tonight, he brought out Sheila E and Wendy Melvoin--WENDY!!!  I love you Wendy!  I'm more exhausted than normal because we got there at 8:15, and the doors that were supposed to be opened at 7:30 WERE STILL SHUT.  So we stood outside.  In the 96-degree heat with a 99-degree heat index.  In downtown Minneapolis.  And stood.  And stood.  And stood.  In the end the line stretched almost the entire way around the Target Center, which is a smegging big building.   The concert didn't start till 10:05.  But he made up for it by opening with "Purple Rain".  And he also played "Nothing Compares 2 U" and "Take Me With U" and "Let's Go Crazy" and "Come Together" and "Let's Go" and pulled a fat middle-aged guy up on stage and had him sing "Play That Funky Music White Boy" and...did I mention Sheila E? And WENDY???

OK...need to try to get some sleep...

In other vaguely-related news, SquillFriend did not know that Wendy and Lisa did the music for Heroes and perked up at the idea.  And also, upon seeing a picture of Mohinder and his curls, she demanded to know who the "beautiful man" was and where she could see more of him.  So I may finally have gained a new convert to the Church of Heroes.  (Though she did ask why anyone would bother with Zachary Quinto when they could be looking at Sendhil instead...so we may have to get one or two things straight first...)

tv: heroes, music
