Rant. . .
So I've been thinking about this for awhile but haven't said anything because I didn't want to piss anyone off but you know, I just don't care anymore.
I think it is absolutely fucking ridiculous that some hetero couples can just have an "oops" and then be "proud parents" who call on the government to pay for practically everything for that child and that's just fucking fine. But gay couples have to jump through hoops just to get denied adoptions or pay thousands upon thousands of dollars to TRY for a baby. And even if they do manage to get a child in some way, only one of them can be the "real" parent. That is just absolute bullshit! And I know that there are straight couples who can't have their own children easily either. I have nothing against them. If you have to try so damn hard to try and get a baby, I think that puts you ahead of the pack when it comes to being someone good enough to have and/or raise a child. That proves that you have thought long and hard about the sacrifices you have to make to have a child and that you know some of the financial burdens as well. But it's not fair that it should cost that much! Wouldn't it be better if all that damn money could be put towards the child's college fund or, I dunno, towards RAISING that child? Why can some dumb people who got drunk and screwed around or forgot to use birth control or CHOSE not to use birth control because "it won't happen to us" have a little oops and then take next to no responsibility for that baby but America is fucking fine with them but a loving, stable gay couple looking for a child is an abomination? I hate this fucking country and I hate people when it comes to issues like this. There is NO logic to it and, damn it, it pisses me off! All the damn people that just spawn children left and right and they get BENEFITS!!! Absolutely fucking ridiculous. That's all there is to it.
