Wesley and I had left the tunnels. The demons were not there, even though we had spent a great quantity of time searching for them. Lost, were Gunn and Angel's son, and we knew that they had encountered more demons in the tunnel then we had. No discussion of them had been brought up as Wesley and I had debarked from the dingy and smelly sewers below the Earth.
Wesley had come up with the idea of going to the lair of the former Archduke Sebassis, who was currently deceased, because the demons that had fled the big fight in front of Angel's hotel, might have gone there, cowering away from combat like the truly weak and pestilent beings that they were.
I found the idea to be accurate. Their leaders fallen, their army along side of them taken apart by us and by the witch who had since died, they crawled away and fled like the amoeba that they were.
Leaving the sewer system I had bolstered Wesley up by picking him up so that he could remove the circular cover that divided the two worlds. Inadvertently, although I found nothing but pleasure in it, his penis pressed against my face as I gave him the lift above. I held him there, enjoying the feel, and remembering how he had pleasured me so with his penis and with his mouth earlier. I thought of Fred's memories and now my own and had to admit that slaughtering weak demons might run second to feeling more of the almost intolerable pleasure that Wesley had bestowed upon me, but he, while being warm to me when I joined him back above ground, seemed to want to take care of business.
He professed love for me, but before this, he told me that we had to be prohibitive in our displays of affection around the others for they might not understand that I was becoming more human by the day, and might be concerned about Wesley's mental state with him showing me affection. I did not care what the other's thought or how they measured myself or Wesley if they knew what we were becoming, but for Wesley, I would follow suit, temporarily, anyway. There was grieving and loss around us, all of those slayers of vampires and the witch that they all seemed to care for being dead.
Still, impulsively, on the way to Sebassis', on the street, where anyone could see it, I pulled him in for a kiss.
"Okay, Illyria, let's take care of the job at hand before we focus on more pleasurable things, although, I have to say, wouldn't you find it pleasurable in killing those hideous demons?"
I smiled at him. He was not without intelligence and I knew what he was doing. He wanted me to become more like Fred, but he didn't want me to lose the pieces of my old self that could be so destructive and would be so destructive and formidable to the demons that we sought.
"Wesley, I am ready to kill all of them, painfully."
It was all that I chose to say, and we moved forward, not taking any secretive steps to get into the building of the Archduke Sebassis. There were no lookouts out doors and our entrance was uneventful, although Wesley insisted upon quiet as he raised his revolver and we came upon at least two scores of demons surrounding the body of their obviously poisoned and deceased leader.
They spoke of the losses suffered in front of Angel's hotel and it forced a smile from my face that faded when they looked upon us, after one of them spoke of seeking vengeance against all of us with the help of the Senior Partners.
"Leave it to weak demons such as yourselves, slaves without a master, to look for the help of those who can't take form on this Earth to help you in an impossible task."
The demons looked frightened and I exchanged a brief glance with Wesley, who smiled, momentarily, before opening fire amongst the crowd.
He would shoot as many as he could, and the rest would be left up to me. The physical, hand-to-hand combat was what I now sought, knowing that these demons were weak, but also realizing that I would not let them anywhere near my Wesley...even if he was strong enough to slay these pathetic amoebas with his own hands.
