Finally
We finally settled on our house. Irony abounds. We didn't want to settle back in January but the seller basically gave us everything we wanted but the date. Then the settlement gets delayed by some legal issue that happened from when he bought the property. We get delayed but not before packing up our entire house and packing a few days worth of clothes and moving down here. I have had 2 sweaters and 1 pair of good jeans and one pair of crappy jeans for the last 4 weeks. I may never wear these clothes again after we get our stuff. It's not the delay, it's the planning for 4 days of hotel and it turning into 4 weeks.
So now most everything is settled. I went around with my checks to the different stores we brought our appliances from. Best Buy was no big deal. Home depot couldn't do the dish washer install without complete plumbing when I thought it might be a matter of paying a bit more. People in HD were sharing a brain cell. I had a check for $100 more they wouldn't give credit so I had to go shopping. David was in no mood to do that. Sears could do what we wanted but that would change our delivery date so they suggested that we wait until it's delivered and then change the payment. Great. So whole afternoon wasted between that and calling BGE. Never got back to house, had super-cranky toddler who had been drug around all day. Steve had fun and games with picking up the dishwasher and not having the right keys to the house.
But at least it's done, we have our new house. Now we just have to sell our old one. That's an even more bitter pill after having some stupid people make an offer and then take it back because they were worried about bears. You read that right. They probably had more to worry about from the deer ticks, but they chose bears.
