Halloween went well this year. I will finally have a picture of us dressed in actual costumes in the scrapbook! That's pretty exciting considering this will be something like year 6 for the scrapbook. Alan dressed in drag with cat ears, a tail, painted on whiskers, and a collar. He actually looked pretty darn good, probably the most convincing he has ever looked. Jeremy also dressed in drag. He wore these giant heels adding about five inches to his six foot two stature, so he is towering over the rest of us in the pictures. His boyfriend is slightly shorter than I am so it was a little awkward on the dance floor. We went to the brillobox for karaoke as we often do on Wednesday nights. Erin came too dressed as a doll. She was very cute as always. Oh, and I had a bagged costume I got from the place in the South Side. It was 50%, my size, and looked really good on me. I couldn't refuse. It was a tight, stretchy black dress with a sparkly skeleton print on it. It came with a tape measure belt and necklace and a button that said "Anna Rexia." I think it was supposed to be ironic sine it was a plus size outfit. I looked good though. After karaoke, I drove Erin's car back to her house after riding with her for two seconds before she pulled into the opposing traffic lane. Apparently her blood sugar was insanely low, so I dragged her up her stairs at home and gave her orange juice. She was perfectly fine after cookies and OJ, but I was pretty concerned before then.
NanoWrimo kicked off yesterday. I wrote 1,824 words surprisingly enough. I was attempting to start writing ALL DAY, but just couldn't get myself to do it. I brainstormed and had my characters have conversations about how they felt about being in another attempted novel, but I just couldn't start. When Alan came home and started writing himself I forced myself to write. I stopped at 1,639 and refused to go on but Alan wasn't done so I pushed through and came out with 1,824 words. Alan finished with 2,014 words! I was very proud. We read each other's writing afterward and encouraged one another. It was quite nice. Alan really is a god writer. At least he comes up with amazing ideas for fantastical stories and fun dialogue. He just needs practice writing it down just like I do. I saw that Annalisa had also surpassed the first day's word count. It is so much fun to do this with friends. I am hoping we can all meet online sometime and share pieces of our novels and our feelings about our work thus far.
