Twitter's Reaction to Hailee Steinfeld Turning 18

Hailee Steinfeld turned 18 on December 11 and received a number of happy birthday messages on her Twitter page. There's nothing surprising about that, of course. What surprised me was that several of the messages came from fellow starlets who also seemed to be friends with Hailee. I was not even aware that she'd met some of these actresses.

Debby Ryan, 21, called Hailee "legal," while Abigail Breslin, who turned 18 back in April, and Odeya Rush, 17, both tweeted messages praising Hailee as beautiful, intelligent and wise, among other things.

@HaileeSteinfeld is an absolute gem. Younger but forever cooler than me, and a total beaut inside and out. Love you, legal. xx

Bailee Madison, 15, might have gotten a little carried away, posting two messages, one in all-caps, and one with a photo of herself writing "Happy 18th Hailee" in a patch of snow.

I hope Hailee isn't going to start "collecting" famous best friends like Taylor Swift does. She replied:

While on Abigail's Twitter page, I thought that this exchange between her and Mara Wilson was interesting.

Twitter is a big place, so I'm curious as to how Mara happened to see this tweet. Does she follow Abigail's Twitter? Does she see something of herself in Abigail? I know that they both live in New York City, although Abigail usually travels while filming. I wonder if they've ever met.
