Bella Thorne Recommends Drew Barrymore's Book

Disney Channel starlet Bella Thorne, 17, has always done a lot of plugging. Last week, she did an "In My Library" interview with the New York Post, and one of her must-reads was Shopaholic to the Stars, by Sophie Kinsella. "I completely relate," Bella admitted. "I never thought of myself as a big shopper, but I realize I'm worse than my mother."

Another book on Bella's list was Find It in Everything, a complilation of photographs by former child star Drew Barrymore, who Bella costarred with in Blended earlier this year. She said: "This is a book of photographs. I'm not very good at photography. Here, [Drew] took photos of things with hearts in them. It's the most random stuff - sometimes she finds things in the garbage. It's crazy! It's basically about how you can find love everywhere. It's about how you look at things - and how you can choose to look at them."

Drew's book was just released at the beginning of this year, but it spent a long time in the making. She hand-picked all the photos that made it into the book from a pool from many more. "It's a compilation of photographs I've taken for well over a decade - fifteen years, at least," she told Ellen DeGeneres when she guested on her show in January to promote it. As an adolescent, Drew crashed hard - abusing drugs and alcohol by the time she was 12, and entering rehab at 13 - and her hobby of finding hearts in everyday objects is very in sync with the positive, one-day-at-time attitude that she's had since getting sober. "I just think there's something great about that one continuous line. There's no negative connotation, and it's hard to find things in life that are so pure," she said on The Ellen Show. "I think you need symbols of hope in your day."

On December 10th, Bella and her big sister Kaili, 22, attended Drew's Hollywood holiday party at Sunset Tower. The following day, Bella announced via a Facebook chat with fans that she's been cast to recreate Drew's scene in the original Scream for the upcoming MTV series, set to debut in October 2015. Bella is - and this will make you feel old - just a few years younger now than Drew was when she did Scream.
