Unfortunately, not too many young actresses attended Teen Vogue's 9th Annual Young Hollywood Party, which was held at Paramount Studios on September 23. Here are a few who were there, from oldest to youngest:
Sarah Hyland, 20.
Sarah, who stars on "Modern Family" with
Ariel Winter, looked sleek in this shimmery silver dress, although the one long sleeve and short skirt are at odds. Sarah has been in gossip headlines recently, after an interview on E! where she made fun of "Glee" star Lea Michele's red-carpet poses. "She puts her hands on her hips like this," Sarah told Joan Rivers, mimicking Lea, "and sticks out her collarbone... to make her look skinnier." Lea told Us Weekly, "It hurt my feelings." Sarah has yet to apologize.
Emily Osment, 19.
We found Emily's plain black dress a little too drab and severe. We're not sure if she was trying to add some color or create a Halloween look with the orange and black earrings, but it didn't quite work. Earlier this year, Emily starred in the TV movie Cyberbully alongside
Kay Panabaker. She's still trying to break free from the "Hannah Montana's best friend" label.
Debby Ryan, 18.
Debby did herself no favors in this dowdy, lace-doily black dress that looked about 20 years too old for her. Debby's main claim to fame, Disney Channel's "The Suite Life on Deck," ended its run earlier this year. Disney Channel has just given Debby her own series, "Jessie," about a rural Texan girl who moves to New York City. The show will debut at the end of September.
Hailee Steinfeld, 14.
The upswept hair and fitted black-and-white patterned dress were elegant and mature, while the bright yellow accessories kept things fun. This is a good example of Hailee's red-carpet creativity.
