Francesca Capaldi on Meeting Fans and Her New Movie
Francesca Capaldi, now 12, began starring on Disney Channel's Dog With a Blog at age 8, but she's still not used to fans getting overwhelmed when they meet her. "One girl cried, and I really didn't know how to react. She was like, 'Can we please take a picture?' She has tears in the picture. I was like, 'Do you want to take another one?' And she was like, 'No, it's okay!' I was like, 'Wow, that was really cool, but also kind of different from anything else I've ever encountered.'"
She also says that she's not immune to freaking out over meeting her favorite stars. In fact, she had a similar reaction when meeting one of the most famous couples in Hollywood. "When I met Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, I was like, 'Oh, my God! Why am I shaking? I'm, like, vibrating right now!'"

Dog With a Blog was cancelled last year, after three seasons, but Francesca's career isn't slowing down. She voiced the Little Red-Haired Girl in The Peanuts Movie, and just this summer, she went to Canada to film a new project, Max 2: White House Hero, about a military dog, named Max, whose handler dies in Afghanistan and gets adopted by his family. "I've been in Vancouver for six weeks. I just finished a movie. I can't say what it is, but I had a foreign accent in the movie. It was fun to film every day [when I was on the show]. I did miss it. But filming a movie, it was fun to just be on location. So that was great to wake up everyday and be like, 'Oh, I'm going to work today!' I enjoyed that a lot, and I love acting so much. It's just -- it's so fun for me, being able to play a different character totally opposite of you -- like, I mean, my character was from a different country! That was just super cool."
Francesca even has her sights on a dream role: a spot in the recently-announced High School Musical 4. "I loved High School Musical! That was, like, my favorite movie! One of my friends just told me she’s never seen High School Musical and I was like, 'What?!'"
