[Terezi has never been the type that listens to others when they say 'don't put strange things in your mouth'. Her ability to taste the colors of everything around her makes almost everything delicious, right down to normally inedible things like chalk, and so the mushrooms don't seem abnormal at all to her. They're purple and white and amazingly

[Says a man slightly above a whisper, though it probably won't be too hard to hear him. Hi are you grieving? Good keep doing that, while Scratch stares opposite Vriska's corpse. ...Oh no wait there is no corpse it's just air but he'll go on. He already gathered a good idea of what this is about just from Terezi's reactions toward the nothingness. He'll raise his voice to normal levels.]
...No, just kidding. The clock swung to Just and she dies her deserving death, with the added assistance of a crowbar that nullifies time artifacts. Congratulations on preventing an off-shoot timeline.

The hallucinogen is strong enough, fortunately, that she forgets the secret she's harboring from him, giving her no additional reason to panic now.
He's telling her her future, isn't he? Congratulating her.]
'Just'. [She says the word like she's testing it out, like she doesn't know what it means. Ordinarily, she'd debate the meaning with him playfully, but now the word is just a stab to her gut.] You're saying what I did was just.

Naturally. This was the only conclusion that could be reached at the end, with her dangerous ambition leading to her downfall. God Tiers must never be too cocky with their immortality, as it is only given on the condition of good behavior. For all that she did and all that she would do, the clock could only tick and tock away to her end.
[He lets out a quick hum sound and continues.]Which begs the question: why even grieve? You made her pay as you said you would. Yet you wallow in grief despite this. ...Or would you like to know what would happen, in the faraway dark corner of timelines, had you not gone through with your ( ... )

[Her voice is small and lost-sounding, and she continues not to sound combative towards Scratch's tone; she's just answering him quietly, almost hesitantly.
Why even grieve? He's right. But she knows he can't understand, won't understand. He's a completely different kind of being, one totally detached from what she is. She knows he views things wholly rationally.]
If Vriska had made another choice, she wouldn't have brought us to this. It could have been different. I didn't want to... I didn't...
[She hugs herself at his last question, drawing her knees to her chest.]
I saw it. Karkat and I died. Together.

Now, listen to yourself and what you know and think: do you truly believe it could have ended any other way? That she would have made choices different from the one she made? Think as hard as you can, despite your mind being clouded in a haze of confusion, because you should arrive at the obvious conclusion Seer.
[For him, the answer is a no. Of course because no matter what, the Alpha Timeline will always reign supreme and nothing would change it. He gave her a second chance. Offered her a clear path that would move her from predestined fate through way of that timeline. He knew she would not take it and knew it would only lead to the flip of a coin.
So, why would the Seer answer any differently?]

At that point, no. [It hurts to say. It really, really hurts.] It was too late for her.
[Vriska had been so far gone by that point that Terezi knew there was no way things were going to change. It was going to come down to a compromise and a threat and a challenge and a flip of the coin. Vriska's pride would not have allowed her to divert her path, and Terezi hates her for it. She hates her for thrusting this deadly, unwanted task upon her.
It doesn't feel like justice. Right now, Terezi only feels like a filthy backstabber who just didn't do enough to save her sister when she could.]

[A sigh.]
You're really being too hard on yourself over this, but I'll attribute your emotional state to the hallucinations going on given the circumstances. However, I will give you one respite in your grieving and help you see through the delusions of guilt.
I'm doing this because I want to.
[He'll then casually pick up his right foot just a few inches above the ground and slam it into the empty space Terezi mourns over, creating a rather audible sound as it lands. The space where the imaginary corpse lays dead.]

Stop it! What are you doing? Stop! [She sounds more than a little horrified. She tries grabbing at his leg.]

[He moves his foot away as she goes to grab, but he'll once again kick lightly toward the empty space.]
I know you're blind, but even you must see that this is all a ploy on your mind.

On top of where the 'body' is.]

and then, all at once, her foot connects with the ground and the hallucination disappears, clears away as fast as smoke, and Terezi shakes with confusion and anger and shame at the way tears drip down her face. she looks down at the ground, finally seeing nothing there. her voice is small and tired.] What did you do?

[Scratch is fairly satisfied when he gets her over the 'body' and even more so when she seems to finally snap out of her delusion. No good having someone mope like a bumbling moron in a public area. He knows Terezi wouldn't want anyone to see her like that. Though, as always, he was doing this just for himself. Seeing the look on her face when she finally snapped out and realized what an idiot she was for crying over air.
It really warmed his human heart.]
A Seer must be composed and always focused, for the sake of the teammates that rely on her vision into the pathways that should and should not be trekked. To act as the conductor. Never lost in the sound of the orchestra, but controlling the sound itself and leading everyone in perfect harmony.
You got lost in the sound of the noise you created. I only nudged you back.

she can still hear him, though, and her mouth forms a small scowl.]
I know what I must do. You don't need to tell me. [she wipes the tears off of her face with the back of her hand.
she tries letting go of her arm and standing up straight, but she sways a little. she really can't 'see' a thing; her world is a kaleidoscope mess right now.]

[He'll let her arm go when she pulls away and he won't even bother trying to stop her swaying. She did let go of his helping hand, so why give it back?]
I really don't understand why you are so upset, but I'm sure it's some troll thing that I couldn't care less about. That and the strange things going on right now in general. Don't be so easily swayed.

You don't understand, you won't understand, and I don't care if you do.
