Up this morning before 6am. This middle age inability to sleep is just the bomb. Took the dog pack to their Sunday dog pack date. Couldn't believe those damn soccer teams were out and about on Easter, can't we heathens catch a break?
Came home, fed horses and started gardening. Bill helped drag in dirt and other supplies and then left for the hospital as one patient refuses to be seen by anyone else but him. GRRRRR...
froghugger helped plant seeds and even MORE tomato plants. Soon enough Bill was back and we left for Hollywood.
Today we went to
AMDA for Emma Cawood an actress with Dungeon Master. She was testing to be certified by SAFD in stage fighting. We found out that our old friend David Woolley would be there as their judge AND Bill wouldn't be on call so this was perfection. His mouth dropped open on seeing Bill enter the studio. The testing was a process of two students playing a fight scene that lasted about two and a half minutes. Think Fight Club, Three Musketeers, Mr & Mrs Smith, Kill Bill, Enough, etc. First was hand to hand combat, then single sword, then rapier & knife. I took a bunch of videos that I need to load onto Youtube.com. Started at 12 noon and was over by about 3pm. It was SO COOL! The choreography to make fights look so good, ok these are still mostly people in their early 20's so they can take the flips and falls...
After this we went over to Mike & Liz so that they could borrow the truck as we went to dinner with Dave and other faculty from AMDA that are his friends. L&M dropped us off at Universal City and we had a good time wandering and then had dinner at the Saddle Ranch. Hopefully we will see some at our show next Sunday.
