I'm up so late. Been waiting for Al to bring MayMay back home. I had to run up to the ranch last Wed because a neighbor said she had a large open wound on her chest.
Suspicious of Pigeon Fevor,
A bacterial disease found in the central valley of CA and in the past few years has spread nationwide. It was a clusterfrak because I couldn't get a vet out to the ranch, one even left us hanging waiting and didn't show up. So I doctored what I could and Al brought her home tonight. The wound is about 1/4 the size since last Wed but I still need it looked at tomorrow. The worst thing is that you can't really treat this with antibiotics as that makes it worse, the chest will swell and you have to lance the abscess, however it seems that if this is Pigeon Fever the swelling burst. The other option is that she impaled herself onto something and the wound is from that.
Al had a time getting a halter onto her but she jumped right into the trailer. "I'm so over this country horse thing! Take me back to the city."
