Sleeping, I'm getting up at 6ish, fed the herd, leashed the dogs & walked for 4 miles until 8am. 9am started to exercise the mares, Loissa is here to be the kind weight for breaking. Absolutely NOTHING happened. First ran Princess on the lunge line, then chased her all over the corral until she was damn tired and just this side of pissed off. Walked her up to the mounting block and after a few times circling it with L standing on it she was able to lay across her back, move her weight and tickle the belly. Princess was slightly stunned. Nothing happened, she took a few steps and then a few more and when she started to speed up I asked L to slide off. We threw her into the barn to consider how her universe has changed. Switched her out for MayMay. She did good on her right lead on the lunge, charged me a few times over the left lead and I had to get her to consider I have my reasons. We then ran her out. No problem getting L to be weight on her, she wasn't as eager to walk with her but she too has a headache trying to figure it all out. We humans retreated and SLEPT. This heat thing WAY over rated.
