...and the feeling of finding one's heart in one's hand.
I wanted to make an update tonight, but there really isn't much to say. I was struck at how very peaceful it was outside tonight, watching Plainfield's fireworks from the front lawn of the office, with the thunder of a thousand celebrations echoing around me. I'm just going to ramble here for a bit, in these last few minutes before quitting time, and maybe something of consequence will emerge inadvertently.
I could use a little excitement in work and in life. The rut is just that lately. The letdown from the chase trip was bigger than I expected, but that's pretty much passed. Now I'm just looking for ways to keep busy, trying to stay in touch.
Anyways, happy birthday, America. Though you're struggling these days, we still believe in you, and the principles for which you stand. May those principles continue to withstand attack, from within and without.
"Say them firmly, say them proudly, say them gratefully. I AM AN AMERICAN."
