I went to Fordham and loved every minute of it. Fordham was the right school for me. I would not have been as happy anywhere else. So I consider the mountain of debt worth it. I had a full ride for my last two years, but if I hadn't, I would have withdrawn for a semester, saved up money, and gone back rather than transfer.

Also, you're in a somewhat unique position with a very high scholarship to another school, but the vast majority of students graduate with tons of debt no matter where they go. It's not quite the "ZOMG I'm going to be paying this off forever I'll never have money help me!!" situation everyone thinks it is.

Point three: Financial aid at Fordham is actually very good. Something like 95% of students get some sort of aid. However, because they spread it across so many people, very few people get all they need. But at least it's a little help. GETTING the financial aid is the difficult part. It will take a lot of phone calls and yelling at the office, but it should work out in the end. See if you can get a hold of the person in charge, not just the person who picks up the phone (usually a student on work-study). They will try not to let you talk to the person in charge, but if you insist, eventually they'll cave. That's how my mom finally got something done.

Hope this helps!

I would not call finanical aid good at Fordham. Many of my friends were forced to leave because Fordham changed their aid package and they could no longer afford it. Also, they regularly mess up paperwork and cause students unessisary stress.
