One thing I hate about corporations- the stupid rules and how they change on a whim. Today's annoyance- I was just informed that FB is off-limits on the internet no matter if you're on break or not because it uses too much bandwidth. This would be understandable if not for the fact that EVERYONE IS ALWAYS ON IT. Seriously. Everyone I walk by has some FB going on, so don't tell me this policy has always been in place. You are crap at enforcing it.
So instead I go on wow.com which probably uses a whole hell of a lot more bandwidth. Take that policies that make no sense!
I had a blast this weekend, which I may write about later. Friday I did an ICC10 raid on WoW that went very well. Lots of new gear- nom nom nom. Saturday got some chores done, played some WoW, then went to Dante's to support my friend Holladay in her pole competition. She did amazing and got 3rd place which, considering it's a popularity contest more than talent contest, was very good. I wash hoping for second but still- top 3! Whoot! I was not pleased by the $15 cover though, esp since it came with no beads to show your approval of the dancers. The beads cost extra and were part of the final vote. Grr. Seriously, how much money do they want to rape us of? Anyway, despite the annoying money fact, had a blast, did lots of fun things and got home late and a little tipsy. Good times.
The next day went over to Charlie and Kevin's for a BBQ in which I played bartender. I now can make a fine tequila sunrise (which is amusing since it's a very simple drink- but can still go drastically wrong). Kevin gave me his approval by drinking 4 of them. heh Dave drove Vince and I back to our cars, and we listened to bad rap and sang along on the freeway. His bass was not thumping, it was more vibrating, but it still was fun. We got lots of odd looks.
Today is day job, which looks like it might be a full day. I have yet to tell them I will have a more limited schedule starting next week. I'm such a chicken. Must... seek... approval! But whatever, I'll get my night schedule for next week and go from there. I might not need to cut down on my hours anyway since the day job should be over with soon. And then back to sweet gloriouis night shifts. Huzzah!
