(no subject)
It's been a while since Hotaru has explored the forest outside her home, near the small lake within. There are a few reasons for that. For one she doesn't want to get into a fight again - not without the others. The other reason, undoubtedly, would be the resurgence of old memories andsensations since she's started going down there.
They cloud her sight, sometimes, like a dense fog she can't see through. Her only option at times like that... to fight through to daylight. It's frightening to her, to think of the things that could happen if she did that.

It's nighttime in Tokyo. November 2005 (unlike most at Milliways, a year and some ahead of her). It's slowly that she changes into her clothes for bed, out of her heavy stockings and long-sleeved shirt. She's sitting on her bed, fiddling with a few stones, and wondering, idly, if she could ever learn to be good at divination as Mars is. She feels happy if not distant. Growing distant.
And then... a new song suddenly out of nowhere. The new melody has, different from the other ones, a new lyric. This new lyric is one she's starting to understand...
(("Win-dain a'lotica / Ehn valtue ri... / Siloh taa / Fin-dein a'loluca...")) "The heart of darkness awakes/it sleeps alone in light/a light that consumes/all true beings..."
What does that mean? she wonders to herself.
- I wonder, are you being allowed to be true to yourself? Or... does your true self lie stifled by the light...? -
Hotaru frowns, looks around the room. It seemed like someone just said something, but no one is in the room but her.
"Who are you..?" she suddenly says out loud to the room.
A wind blows - a strong gust within the room, its windows closed and its doors locked - and then there she is before Hotaru. Long dark hair and pale white dress... the singing woman, who speaks silent words... but her wings are gone. It's seemingly a human she sees before her. The woman raises one translucent slim hand in welcome.
"Ah..." Hotaru gasps slowly. What is this? What's going on... how... did she get in my room?
- You welcomed me, Young Star. ...You, too, seek your truth. - the woman answers in words mouthed but not coming from her.
Hotaru gapes in surprise.
- You want to return to your true self. Return to darkness. - she continues.
"Wh... Where did you come from...?" Hotaru ventures to ask, finally. The room shatters around her. At least, her perception of her room shatters around her, like a full length mirror thrown to the ground. And when the pieces fall away, she discovers that she is standing in a long, dark room, empty save for herself and the Singing Woman. The woman points with one solemn motion to a huge columnal window to their side, leading to more darkness. Hotaru starts to walk to the window. She then realizes that her bedclothes have been replaced with a ground-length gown of dark color. Her hands and arms are gloved in the same hue, a ribbon is tied around her neck. The royal form of her Self - Sailor Saturn - as the warrior Saturn is a princess as well.
At the window, she sees stars at first - hundreds of thousands of stars. And then she sees the great yellow grey rings of her home planet.
"Titan... we're in Titan Castle? Why...? You still haven't answered my question!" she remembers.
- Seek your truth... - the woman says in answer, alone.
Hotaru looks at her, uncertainty creeping upon her. "I... I don't even want to be here! I don't *know* what you're talking about! I want to go back--"
She stops midsentence. She's sitting back on her bed in Tokyo, a few multi-colored stones scattered idly in front of her. She is alone, and her bedclothes have returned. "--home."
She goes to sleep disturbed, and ill-at-ease.
