Ending of ITRI and back in ATL....
rambling off my last days in Taiwan
-borrowed bikes to go around the ITRI campus with Cindy and then belly dancing class with Cindy and Gina
-anniversary concert followed by a carnival the next day...got a massage, a silhouette thing, and bungee thing
dinner was a fried fish meal at the food court in Taipei main station with Gina, Chosen and Su-wai followed by shopping in the underground mart. stayed at Derek's aunt's house in Dapinglin....went to Room 18 (700NT)
-lunch with my aunt at Spring..tho i felt nauseated.. and the shopping and back to Hsinchu
-mon lunch of dumplings with co-workers and shaved ice. dinner with my uncle at a japanese place...had a fried oyster meal set
-went up to taipei on tuesday. dinner was a sashimi meal set and then hung out with Derek's friends (Irene, Preston, Brian, Wesley, and Jeff) at Match...Derek got wasted...hit up a McDonald's ....lunch was korean bbq/hot pot with his aunt
-wed. night: hung out at the family mart
-thur lunch with supervisor Dr. Lin and had a salmon sashimi meal set with really good passion fruit tea, picked up rental car---my cousin is so nice---and went to JJ cheers...bar near guangming. played some pool and then went back to building 89 to hang out in room 129
-last day: Johanna on a taipei business trip and Gina on a trip to Alishan. Lunch with the interns, checklist with Andrew while he took pics and then Tony stopped by to say bye, nice visit to the roof, left early. Packed with Vamsi and Raphael on guitar, Ben stopped by and played, chosen joined and the debbie and alvaro. Derek too me to his friend's house (really nice)-Kelly, Daphne, carol, Jess, Wesley--they made food tho it wasn't very good. Picked up Johanna and went to the airport. Was fine until she said that she would miss me, then the tears started. Derek awkwardly sat there listening to music and trying to make us laugh---saw Preston checking in---go to the gate just as they were boarding. Singapore was nice, slept well for once. LAX was a pain---baggage claim and waiting for customs took forever. Then I had to trek it to the terminal 7. I got put on a 11 pm flight that got delayed to 12:30 to Chicago but heavy rain so i missed by 6:30am connecting flight to atl so i was stuck there until 1:30.
and then home, finally.
got to hang out with Amrita, Cici, and Bobo
back to research where i'm still working on the review paper
went to the lab party. nice--food was good and his kids are cute and his wife is friendly and i like my lab people. went to my aunt's house for dad's b-day.
got to rock climb at tech.
