According to Unite for Sight, over 4 million pairs of eyeglasses are thrown out in the US each year.
This organization promotes eye heath worldwide and works to eliminate prevetable blindness. They also work to get eyeglasses and eye equiptment to areas that couldn't otherwise afford it. Last year it provided eye care to 200,000 people, free of charge.
This non-profit accepts monitary donations, but it also accepts donations of eyeglasses, sunglasses and eye equiptment.
