Who: Marian and open to all outlaws
What: Christmas. YAY
Where: Camp
When: December 25th

Marian and Robin had been away from camp since late last night, seeing in Christmas Day together. She had not intended on it being seen as selfish from the gang, and she hoped it wouldn’t be, but it was just meant to be a grasp at something they use to do. When they had been betrothed as teenagers, they had sat outside watching Christmas Eve fade into Christmas Day. But they hadn’t returned last night, instead riding out very early so Marian could visit her father, even if it meant little sleep. She didn’t want to keep Robin from the gang for too long, especially not on Christmas, and she was quite looking forward to spending the day with them too. She just didn’t want such a day to go by without her father having a visit. They had shared a simple Christmas breakfast together, just the three of them, which had meant a lot to her. Of course, another perk that had come from this meeting had been the generosity of the monks who had given them a selection of foods. It was no feast when compared to what she knew of Christmas meals, but compared to the usual foods given to an outlaw it was. Two bottles of wine, some sausage that would be enough to feed them happily along with some cheese and bread. They had thanked the monks of course, extremely grateful for their generosity, but they couldn’t spend much longer there if they wanted to be back early enough. Especially with the snow on the ground.

It had killed Marian to leave her father on Christmas. But her life was torn between two places now.

They rode back as fast as they could, not wanting to risk the horse losing footing, and only stopped a couple of times to make sure they could tackle hills and slopes better, or to tighten the bag that held the food, and once to check Marian’s horse hadn’t been injured at one point when they slipped... and once or twice for a last private moment before rejoining the gang. By the time they arrived it must have been just going onto ten. Ensuring the horses were safe and warm, Robin took the bag from the horse before they walked the little distance left to camp. Smiling softly at Robin before they walked in, she wrapped one arm around his shoulders and gave him a kiss before grinning and taking his hand to walk in.

“Merry Christmas,” she said as they entered, smiling as she saw those here.
